2009 Common Threads Challenges
Challenge # 1: Use an interesting button as the inspiration to create your quilt. I used the design of the leaf in the button to create the pattern for the leaves surrounding the button. This is a whole cloth quilt.
Challenge # 2: Trees. I stitched on the underlay scraps from our new laminate flooring and then attached them to a bacground.
Challenge # 3: Line - the first Element of Art. I used stitched lines to create a secondary line which spelled the word 'line'. I added a button to dot the I.

2009 Quilting again
After a month or more of not quilting because I was involved in many volunteer activities, I just had to make something so I grabbed these drapery samples and a cream coloured sheet and threw this together.

2009 Grandma and me
My Grandmother (1903-2001) was my earliest creative influence. The butterflies were crocheted by her many years ago and I decided to put them in one of my art quilts.

2009 St. James Anglican Church Quilt Show Challenge
We have a challenge at our quilt show each year. This year we each got a fat quarter of one fabric. The fat quarter was a brown/orange/yellow fabric. I added the green and blue fabric as well as the black background fabric. I quilted it with silver and black thread, of course only the silver thread shows.

2009 I spy... (#3)
This one is for my daughter, Nicole, who is expecting for July. The backing and binding are denim because it is meant to be used on the floor or taken to the park or the beach. It measures 68" from tip to tip or 60" from flat side to flat side. My daughter's husband is from Djbouti, Africa. I had Canadian flag fabric for the quilt and I hand painted a Djbouti flag patch to match it. After making three I Spy quilts I am officially tired of these fabrics.

2009 Paisley Purse
My second vinyl purse. It turned out a little bigger than I expected but I like my design...it's got all the right pockets. The paisley really added something to it. It measures 12" x 12" x 4" and it is 16" across the top.

2009 I spy...
... with my little eye. There will be a few babies in my life in the next little while so I bought many different prints and this is the first in what should be a series of I Spy quilts. I gave this one to Lisa that I work with for her little girl.

2009 Small Shopping Bag
Just something quick I made on a lazy Sunday afternoon from drapery samples.
