2019
Common Threads Raffle Quilt Common Threads Quilt Group made this quilt entirely out of scraps. We sorted the scraps by colour and then made blocks. Each block is solid strips of fabric except one strip which is pieced. The blocks were then laid out in a rail fence fashion and pieced together to make the quilt top. Black and white scraps were used to make the triangles for the border. It is quilted by myself on my domestic machine with my walking foot. |
2019 Bounce Modern Quilt Guild Two Color Challenge I finished the MQG Two Color Challenge but not in time to enter it in Quilt Con. That's ok though, I'm just happy I took the challenge and I'm please with my design. I designed quilt labels and had them printed through Spoonflower. This is the first quilt to be adorned with one of them. Pattern available at https://www.etsy.com/shop/melissamarginet |
Wefty Needle
I bought a Wefty Needle and have been having some fun with it. I was watching some videos online for hints and tips. One of the videos was a virtual trunk show between Tara, the inventor of the Wefty Needle and Matthew, Mister Domestic. Matthew said he was afraid to quilt the Wefty Needle projects. So of course I had to challenge myself.

Bill Steerman class
I took a class at Keystone Quilts with Bill Stearman on the double disappearing nine patch. In the afternoon the class split into two and we worked on a project together. Don't I look like I'm having fun playing with all that fabric? Bill suggested someone could take the blocks for a charity quilt. I took them home and together with my quilt group this is what we created. It has been raffled off for charity. |
