2006 Nicole's First Christmas Tree
Nicole's first Christmas Tree for her small apartment. There are 24 buttons on it to hang decorations and the trunk is a pocket to keep the decorations in or place your Christmas cards. I hand painted the 24 white buttons gold with acrylic paint. I then went through our Christmas decorations and found 24 decorations that would be sentimental to her to make it special.
This basic pattern is taken from a magazine but I don't recall which one right now. When I find it I will add the credits.
2006 Heavenly Angel II
Pattern by Rocky Mountain Quilt Works. Given to my in-laws for Christmas.
2006 Christmas Cards
The trees are made with drapery samples. At the bottom on each drapery sample, the fabric is backed with paper. I cut this off before using the fabric in a quilt or other project. I used these to cut the shpaes to make the trees. I glued them lightly to the card stock, let them dry then, stitched around each tree to permanently secure them.
2006 Stained Glass Angel
This angel is made using fused reverse applique. The black is 100% cotton however the 'glass' is drapery samples which give it texture and shine.

2006 Bull's Eye Challenge
This is an idea I got from Inspiration Odyssey: A Journey of Self-Expression in Quilts by Diana Swim Wessel. Five people created bullseyes measuring two feet across. (The black and white one is mine) The bullseyes were then cut into pie pieces and exchanged amongst each other. Three of us finished our projects before the 2006 St. James Anglican Church Quilt Show and you see them here on display.
