2004 Lone Star Tree Skirt

Christmas gift for my in-laws, Chuck and Fern.

2004 Flying South

Applique over convergence background. Given to mom and dad for Christmas.

2004 Graduation gifts

Both blankets are made using a sew and flip crazy quilt method.  They are made with manageable sized pieces and them put together with a quilt-as-you-go technique.  I used mostly fabrics I got in a box of fabric scraps I bought at a garage sale and old jeans.
(1) Neil's quilt - Neil's grandfather was getting rid of some old ties and as Neil knew I liked using old ties he brought me a bag full.  I had already started making this blanket for him and decided to incorporate some of the ties into the blanket.  He didn't know when he brought the ties that I was making this for him.
(2) Vanessa's quilt - I added an old curtain to the mix of fabric from the garage sale and did four fans in the centre to create a circular focal point.

2004 Un-tied

This queen sized quilt is made with men's neckties. Believe it or not, there are only 28 ties used.

2004 Quilt-as-you-go

Learning a new technique.  I took a class at Carellan Sewing Centre.
